At Cross Creek Retrievers, we offer the following training which begins at 4 weeks of age:

  • At 10 weeks of age, he will be trained to walk on a leash, to sit, stay, fetch, and come to name.
  • At 12 weeks of age, he will be trained to walk with a loose lead harness, stay in crate for 8 hours in the night and 4 hours in the day. He will also be trained to know the commands “drop it”, “here”, and “stay” (he will be trained to stay for 10 seconds as Owner walks 5 feet away). He will also be introduced to gun fire.

With either of the above training, he will develop in the following skills:

  • Potty Training Basics
  • Discourage Biting, Chewing, and Jumping
  • Exposure/Playtime with Children/Adults
  • Interaction with Other Animals (Dogs/Cats/etc)
  • Proper Reactions to New People
  • Confidence with Loud Noises (Thunderstorms, Vacuums, Music, etc)
  • Car Travel
  • Ascending/Descending Stairs (Inside/Outside)
  • Relaxation During Grooming
  • Play Skills
  • Introduction to Water Play (as Season Permits)

Pups must be paid in full by 4 weeks of age for training to commence.
